Swarm Removal
Honeybee swarms occur throughout late spring and early summer. They are generally not harmful and very docile after leaving the hive.  Z's Bees will collect and relocate honeybee swarms for free in the Southeast Iowa area. Please contact us soon if you have a swarm so we can gather them before they take up permanent residence in an undesirable location. A good picture of the cluster of bees is very helpful. If you have an existing hive in a tree or home please contact us first to evaluate the situation and see what is required. Call or text for quickest response.
Bee Presentations
Do you have a group that would like to learn more about honeybees? Well, we love to share what we have learned over the years.Â
Between the months of May and September we can bring our observation hive to your activity to allow others to see bees in action. This experience has been a favorite among the old and young. Â
Groups that we have presented to include boy scouts, girl scouts, 4-H clubs, retirement homes, afterschool programs, summer school programs. If you would like more information contact us.
Lip Balm Classes
This has been a fun new adventure. Lip Balm classes allows a group of friends to get together and come learn about bees. We then go step by step and create our popular Z's Bees Lip Balms.Â
This year during the week of Valentine's Day we even had a parent/child date class. This was the sweetest event. The location was all decorated for Valentines day and we had cookies and punch along with our normal class. It was special!Â
